Primary Teacher – Maternity Cover

About the role

Aldar Education is seeking an outstanding Primary Teacher to provide maternity cover at Yasmina British Academy, starting in October 2026/2027. The role involves delivering the English National Curriculum and contributing to the school’s high standards of achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement department policies and practices aligned with the school’s vision and high standards.
• Use data to identify under‑achieving students and create action plans to support their progress.
• Design, review and evaluate schemes of work for all year groups, ensuring provision for SEN/POD, G&T and EAL learners.
• Monitor curriculum coverage, continuity and progression, and set expectations for staff performance.
• Lead the department’s contribution to the school’s CAS programme and after‑school revision sessions.
• Manage departmental resources, budgets and staff performance in line with school policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience, preferably with the UK curriculum.
• Proven ability to raise standards, implement effective learning strategies and close gaps in student achievement.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and collaborative teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
