Principal Algorithm Developer – Implementation L1

About the role

EDGE Group is seeking a senior Principal Algorithm Developer to lead the design, simulation and validation of advanced waveform algorithms for next‑generation wireless communication systems. The role focuses on translating cutting‑edge signal‑processing research into real‑time hardware implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate and validate waveform algorithms (modulation/demodulation, error correction, equalization, synchronization, frequency offset correction) for single‑ and multi‑carrier systems.
• Research and apply advanced signal‑processing techniques to improve efficiency, robustness and error resilience.
• Test algorithm performance across diverse channel models (fading, noise, interference) using MATLAB, Simulink or Python.
• Optimize algorithms for real‑time implementation on FPGA/DSP platforms.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on modem integration, design reviews and stakeholder reporting.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience developing algorithms for wireless communication modems (e.g., 5G, Wi‑Fi, Wi‑Max).
• Hands‑on experience with waveform optimization and strong understanding of communications standards and protocols.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field (PhD a plus).

Required skills

• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Exposure to FPGA/ASIC hardware implementation.
• Deep knowledge of channel modeling and performance metrics such as BER, SNR and throughput.
