Principal Engineer - Mechanical Design, Aerospace & Defence

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to lead mechanical design for its Halcon business. The role covers the full product lifecycle, from conceptual design and detailed design through analysis, testing, manufacturing support and in-service support, providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development from concept through production and support.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, design analyses and technical evaluations to meet performance requirements.
• Develop and review design documentation, engineering changes, test specifications and verification activities.
• Mentor engineers and support multidisciplinary development programs and project execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant mechanical design experience (Bachelor's), 10 years (Master's) or 9 years (PhD), preferably in aerospace or defence.
• Proven experience in product development, testing, manufacturing support and performance evaluation of complex mechanical systems.
• Preferred: experience in guided munition, missile, aerospace or defence product development and manufacturing; experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in CAD systems and Product Data Management (PDM)
• Engineering analysis and mechanical design methodologies
• English proficiency required
