Principal Hook Up Engineer

About the role

LutechResources is hiring a Principal Hook Up Engineer in Abu Dhabi. The role monitors the project cycle, guides the team on documenting progress observations, running diagnostic tests and writing instructional manuals and resolutions, and ensures healthy client relationships. It may involve leading functional teams or projects and acting as a specialist in hook-up and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations during hook-up and commissioning, following company policies and procedures
• Conduct constructability reviews, maintain the constructability log and lessons learned, and prepare close-out reports
• Support engineering input to bids and historical data, and take part in improving engineering policies and yard procedures
• Provide training, review project-specific training needs and arrange constructability meetings with Engineering and Fabrication teams
• Generate and review technical documentation such as procedures, manuals and reports
• Monitor and control project costs, schedule and quality metrics, and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate and supervise the hook-up and commissioning team, and lead and oversee hook-up and commissioning activities for major EPCI projects
• Develop hook-up and commissioning plans with milestones, deliverables and resource requirements, and integrate them with project management and fabrication teams
• Run feasibility studies and risk assessments, and stay up to date with hook-up and commissioning technologies and trends

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical
• At least 12 years of experience in hook-up and commissioning within the EPCI industry, including offshore and onshore projects
• Strong knowledge of industry standards such as API, ISO and ASME, and ability to oversee compliance with codes and regulations
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and strong problem-solving and communication skills
