Principal Mechanical Engineer – Rotating Equipment

About the role

The Principal Mechanical Engineer will interpret business issues, provide best‑practice recommendations and solve complex mechanical engineering problems related to rotating equipment. Working independently with minimal guidance, the role may also lead functional teams and projects, ensuring high‑quality engineering delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED and detailed design analyses for rotating equipment in accordance with project specifications, design codes and standards.
• Lead small to medium mechanical engineering teams, coordinate discipline execution, and ensure deliverables meet schedule, budget and quality requirements.
• Prepare and review detailed design calculations, design reports, mechanical equipment specifications, P&IDs and equipment lists, managing interfaces with other disciplines and external agencies.
• Support procurement activities, evaluate technical quotations, and approve vendor and subcontractor submittals.
• Participate in project kickoff, HAZOP sessions, factory acceptance testing and technical quality audits.

Required skills
