Principal Professional Financial Controller

About the role

The Principal Professional, Financial Controller will join the Financial Controller Division at NDB Headquarters in Shanghai. Reporting to the Chief Financial Controller, this senior position ensures the Bank’s financial statements and control activities comply with IFRS and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable laws.
• Adapt accounting standards for loans, grants, borrowings, investments, derivatives, capital, payroll, fixed assets and administrative accounts.
• Manage general ledger, account reconciliations and budgeting cycles.
• Analyse balance‑sheet and income‑statement performance, monitor risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Produce quarterly and annual financial analyses and investor roadshow presentations.
• Support internal audit closure, system implementation and bank‑wide automation initiatives.
• Review external data submissions, including those to rating agencies.
• Develop and tailor financial control initiatives aligned with the Bank’s strategic priorities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial reporting and control within a banking or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and relevant local regulations.
• Proven ability to manage complex accounting areas such as loans, derivatives and treasury.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead risk‑focused financial analysis and drive process improvements.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Expertise in general ledger management, account reconciliation and budgeting.
• Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Ability to support system implementations and automation projects.
