Principal RCS Engineer

About the role

EDGE is seeking a Principal RCS Engineer to lead the design and development of low‑observable features for advanced platforms. The role combines theoretical electromagnetics expertise with hands‑on design, analysis, and testing of radar‑absorbent materials and stealth shaping.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise low‑observable (LO) features, including shaping, material selection, and internal component arrangement.
• Perform detailed radar cross‑section (RCS) analysis using CST Microwave Studio and in‑house tools, iterating with aerodynamic and structural teams.
• Develop physics‑based models to predict and mitigate signatures, and conduct trade studies on performance, cost, and weight.
• Support planning and execution of compact range, anechoic chamber, open‑air, and flight testing to validate stealth performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical, Electromechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related field; Ph.D. highly preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in electromagnetic engineering, preferably focused on radar LO/stealth and RCS reduction.

Required skills

• CST Microwave Studio, FEKO or HFSS for computational electromagnetics.
• Python and MATLAB for data analysis and automation.
• Use of lab equipment such as vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
