Principal/Senior Fullstack Software Engineer

About the role

Laine builds an AI-powered legal drafting platform that helps people and licensed lawyers draft faster and more securely. It is looking for a product-minded, versatile Principal Software Engineer to design, build and scale the platform. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Dubai office, with administrative visa support and relocation required.

Key responsibilities

• Influence technical architecture and the product roadmap with pragmatic, user-first thinking.
• Own features end to end, from the React frontend to the Node.js backend.
• Integrate LLMs and external AI services into secure, usable features.
• Improve performance, scalability, observability and security across the platform.
• Write clean, well-tested code, contribute to design documents and lead code reviews.
• Partner with product and design teams to understand why features are built.

Required profile

• Strong product mindset and solid software engineering fundamentals, with a track record of shipping production systems.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript across the stack (Node.js and React/Next.js).
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLMs into production workflows.
• Fluent in English.
• Nice to have: LegalTech, FinTech or compliance-sensitive domain experience; prompt engineering, RAG or AI agents; security-minded development; event-driven design and queues/streams; a bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
