Procurement Officer

About the role

A highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Officer is sought to join the team. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of procurement experience in the construction, contracting or engineering industry; experience in the wastewater treatment (WWTP/STP/WTP) sector is a strong advantage. The role covers sourcing, negotiating and ordering materials and services while keeping costs under control and maintaining good supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors, obtain quotations and prepare comparative statements for management approval.
• Issue purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
• Coordinate with project, engineering and warehouse teams on material requirements and delivery schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance, track deliveries and resolve delays or discrepancies.
• Ensure purchased materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier databases and documentation, and process transactions in Tally ERP.
• Assist in inventory monitoring and stock replenishment, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and support management with procurement reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in construction, contracting or engineering; wastewater treatment experience is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with local UAE suppliers and procurement practices is an advantage.

Required skills

• Tally ERP proficiency (required).
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong negotiation, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage several procurement activities at once.
