Product Control Lead for Digital‑First Financial Services

About the role

The client, a leading UAE financial institution building a digital‑first platform, is seeking a Product Control Lead to own daily P&L production, valuation control and trader‑to‑ledger reconciliation. This senior position will establish the product control function from the ground up, ensuring accurate, auditable results for treasury and trading activities.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and sign off daily P&L for treasury and trading, with detailed attribution by driver.
• Perform independent valuation control, reviewing marks, curves and inputs against reliable sources.
• Reconcile front‑office positions and P&L to the general ledger, investigate and clear breaks.
• Explain and challenge P&L movements with the front office, escalating anomalies promptly.
• Maintain and enhance the product control framework, including price testing and independent price verification (IPV).
• Support new product approval by assessing valuation, booking and control implications.
• Partner with Treasury, Risk and Financial Control to ensure consistent, controlled results.
• Design AI‑enabled processes to automate daily P&L production, break detection and price verification.

Required profile

• 8+ years of product or valuation control experience in financial services.
• Proven track record of building product control processes in a regulated or green‑field environment.
• Strong knowledge of treasury and market products and related valuation/reporting standards.
• Ability to work in ambiguous, fast‑changing settings and set up frameworks where none exist.
• Clear communicator able to explain complex finance matters to senior stakeholders and regulators.
