Product Owner – Cards (Banking)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the end‑to‑end development of Credit and Debit Card products for a digital‑first bank in Abu Dhabi. The role is focused exclusively on card‑related services, covering issuance, lifecycle management, digital wallets, tokenisation and related capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, roadmap and backlog for Credit and Debit Card offerings.
• Drive product development from discovery, design and development through UAT, launch and continuous improvement.
• Manage the complete customer journey – application, issuance, activation, servicing, controls, limits, replacement, renewal and closure.
• Lead new card launches, enhancements, pricing and experience improvements.
• Collaborate with Visa, Mastercard and other schemes on mandates, certifications and compliance.
• Implement digital card capabilities such as tokenisation, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and contact‑less payments.
• Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and a prioritized backlog.
• Partner with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Fraud, Finance, UX/UI, Marketing and external vendors.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a dedicated Cards Product Owner or Product Manager within a bank, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
• Hands‑on knowledge of credit and debit card products, card issuance, lifecycle management, card servicing and scheme requirements.
• Experience with digital wallets, tokenisation, card controls, rewards, authorization and settlement processes.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Abu Dhabi on a 3‑month contract (extendable).
