Product Owner – Payments, FX & Risk Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Product Owner to own the roadmap and backlog for the UniqPay platform covering acquiring, payouts, currency conversion, and risk. You will be the voice of merchants, acquirers and regulators, translating demand and compliance into a prioritized product plan.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and prioritize the product roadmap for acquiring, payouts, FX and risk, balancing merchant demand, commercial priority, technical debt and regulatory obligations.
• Write clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria covering payment edge cases such as declines, retries, chargebacks and FX.
• Lead sprint planning, refinement and review, acting as the single decision‑maker on scope and acceptance.
• Translate licensing, KYC/KYB, AML, data residency and scheme requirements into product requirements for each jurisdiction.
• Drive integrations with PSPs, acquirers and merchants, defining API specifications, timelines and configurations.
• Define and track metrics like approval rates, latency, settlement accuracy and merchant retention to steer prioritisation.
• Conduct launch readiness, post‑launch and incident reviews, converting lessons into backlog items or process changes.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of product ownership or product management experience, with at least 2 years delivering payments or fintech products for iGaming, crypto or FX merchants in international markets.
• Deep understanding of regulated merchant verticals, including cascading approvals, on/off‑ramp flows and settlement dynamics.
• Hands‑on experience applying licensing, KYC/KYB, AML, data residency and card‑scheme rules across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to own an agile backlog, write stories, run ceremonies and be accountable for sprint outcomes.
• Technical fluency to work with engineers on API‑driven products and third‑party integrations.
• Strong judgement to say “no”, prioritize and communicate decisions to founders, compliance officers and engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance or related field; CSPO or PSPO certification a plus.
