Product Quality Engineer I

About the role

The Product Quality Engineer I supports product approval and acceptance activities for supplier‑manufactured parts within EDGE’s POWERTECH centre of excellence. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on experience in first‑article inspection, production part approval, inspection planning and configuration control in the aerospace sector.

Key responsibilities

• Review supplier first‑article inspection reports for compliance with AS9102 and prepare findings for senior review.
• Support PPAP and APQP submission reviews, verify characteristic accountability and drawing ballooning against released revisions.
• Prepare and maintain product approval evidence packages, submission records and status reports.
• Assist in creating incoming inspection plans, acceptance criteria and analysing measurement capability data.
• Raise and administer material review records, track supplier corrective actions and concessions.
• Participate in supplier site visits to build competence in aerospace manufacturing processes and metrology.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Materials or Metrology Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience or internship in aerospace quality or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with foundational GD&T knowledge.
• Understanding of inspection and measurement methods and basic quality concepts.
• Strong attention to detail, disciplined record‑keeping and competence in data analysis.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites and work on the shop‑floor.
