Professor of Digital Business and Data Science

About the role

Global University Systems is looking for a full-time Professor of Digital Business and Data Science to join its Business Faculty in Dubai, working 40 hours per week starting 01.03.2027. The role involves delivering engaging, practical modules, advising students and taking part in research and university governance.

Key responsibilities

• Teach introductory and advanced courses in Digital Business, Digital Transformation, Digital Strategy and Innovation, Applied Data Science, Business Analytics and Decision Support Systems; candidates must be able to teach in at least two of these areas.
• Plan and run interdisciplinary research and development projects and publish scholarly work in the relevant fields.
• Advise and supervise students, grade work and supervise seminars, projects and bachelor/master theses.
• Establish industry collaborations and partnerships, and take part in university administration and committees.
• Help design new study programmes and improve existing curricula, and advise prospective students and support outreach.

Required profile

• Master's degree and PhD in Digital Business, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, Digital Management or a related field.
• At least three years of professional experience, including two years outside academia in Digital Business, Digital Transformation, Applied Data Science or Business Analytics.
• Experience teaching the listed subjects; experience teaching advanced versions is an advantage.
• National and international work experience, and the ability to teach in English (German is an advantage).
• Commitment to applied research, student engagement and curriculum innovation, and a strong team spirit.

Required skills

• Publications and research activity is a strong asset.
• Ability to teach in English; publication record and teaching evaluations are requested.
