Project Control Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Control Manager to lead and manage project controls activities for a major Oil & Gas EPC/Lump Sum project in Abu Dhabi. The role will oversee planning, scheduling, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting, reporting and risk management across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall Project Controls function, integrating planning, cost control, progress measurement, forecasting and reporting.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, baselines, milestones, critical paths and recovery plans.
• Monitor project progress against approved baselines, identify schedule slippage and potential delays.
• Manage cost control including budgets, commitments, actual costs, accruals, forecasts and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
• Establish and monitor progress measurement systems and ensure accurate physical progress reporting.
• Prepare and review weekly and monthly project control reports, dashboards and management presentations.
• Identify schedule and cost risks and work with project teams to develop mitigation and recovery actions.
• Ensure effective change management, assessing schedule and cost impacts of variations and change orders.
• Coordinate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commercial, Finance and other stakeholders.
• Review contractor and subcontractor schedules, progress reports and performance, providing timely information for decision‑making.
• Lead and develop the Project Controls team, promoting a strong performance and reporting culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in Project Controls, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong experience on EPC and Lump Sum projects, covering detailed engineering through commissioning and close‑out.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders and contractors.
• Deep understanding of EPC contracting, Lump Sum environments and change‑management processes.
• Experience with risk identification, claims handling, schedule impact analysis and recovery planning.
