Project Controls Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Project Controls Manager for our on‑site team in Abu Dhabi. The role is a key contributor, managing the performance of the EPC Contractor and driving overall project success. It involves developing and tracking project scheduling and progress tools and producing routine reports for key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review, track and update the EPC Contractor’s schedule covering design, consenting, coordination, supply, erection, interface, fuel supply, commissioning and testing activities.
• Prepare and monitor the Project Baseline schedule, key performance indicators and associated reporting in collaboration with the EPC Contractor and ENGIE TPM(E).
• Ensure schedules are routinely updated, highlighting deviations from baseline for mitigation.
• Monitor progress using S‑Curves, look‑ahead schedules and other tools to identify impacts on the critical path.
• Lead weekly planning meetings with the EPC Contractor to resolve schedule issues.
• Support the Construction Director in developing recovery schedules and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare management, shareholder, lender and insurer reports and presentations.
• Maintain project risk registers and drive related actions.
• Develop internal project control processes, including document management and retrieval systems.
• Assist in the implementation and integration of the Procore Project Management system.

Required profile

• University degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of construction experience in a power plant or complex industrial process plant.
• Proven expertise in project scheduling theory, practice and techniques.
• Strong planning, communication, negotiation and coordination abilities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Based in Abu Dhabi, full‑time site‑based with flexibility to travel within the region.
