Project Delivery Manager - Renewables (PV Power Projects)

About the role

A leading energy organization in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Project Delivery Manager for its renewables business. The role suits an experienced project management professional with 8+ years in the Energy sector, including utilities and/or EPC exposure, who has delivered large-scale PV power projects (500MW+) and managed them through construction and delivery. The contract is 2-3 years and is on-site in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Develop project delivery strategies, including project organization, Owner's Engineer scope, third-party inspection requirements, budgets and construction costs.
• Oversee project delivery performance of project companies and EPC contractors, focusing on HSE, contract and claims management, schedules and compliance with agreed standards.
• Monitor and manage delays, risks, deviations and technical issues, and coordinate with Technical, Asset Management and project company teams.
• Review monthly project reports, identify key risks and report to senior management; conduct regular site visits.
• Lead the selection and onboarding of project management resources, and act as Project Director until the appointed director is onboarded.
• Build relationships with EPC contractors, vendors, partners and stakeholders, and prepare projects for operations in line with service contracts, HSE standards, SLAs and regulations.
• Incorporate market policies and best practices into project optimization models, monitor forecasts and identify cost and time improvements.
• Evaluate project economics, cash flows, variation orders, extensions of time, force majeure and sensitivity analyses, and share lessons learned across the portfolio.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years in project management leadership roles in the Energy sector, with utilities and/or EPC Contractor experience.
• Experience delivering large-scale PV projects (500MW+) with BESS exposure.
• Previous management experience with an EPC Contractor or IPP during construction of multiple projects.
• Preferred: Master's degree, 10+ years of experience, dual EPC and IPP management experience, and strong knowledge of Middle Eastern power generation stakeholders.
