Project Designer – Commercial Mixed‑Use

About the role

The Project Designer will work closely with senior designers and project teams to deliver high‑quality commercial mixed‑use projects on time and within budget. This role involves guiding design development, mentoring staff, and upholding HKS’s values and mission throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior designers on conceptual designs, presentations, and construction documents.
• Lead design efforts for assigned projects, developing creative concepts and expanding on existing ideas.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives.
• Prepare schematic land and site planning drawings and graphic content for marketing and proposals.
• Conduct product research, assist with material and system evaluations, and perform design computations.

Required profile

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Typically 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Architectural registration strongly preferred.
• Sustainable design accreditation preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Dynamo.
• Advanced skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Twinmotion, Enscape, and Bluebeam.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Navisworks and the MS Office Suite.
