Project Director – Large‑Scale Civil Construction

About the role

The Project Director leads the delivery of large‑scale civil construction projects, including high‑rise buildings and mega‑projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality, safety and client satisfaction standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for assigned projects from mobilization through completion and handover.
• Take full responsibility for project performance, covering programme, cost, profitability, quality, HSE and contractual compliance.
• Establish execution strategy, organisational structure, manpower plan and resource requirements.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineering, Planning, Commercial, QA/QC, HSE and site personnel.
• Monitor progress against baseline programmes and implement recovery plans when needed.
• Maintain strong cost control, review monthly cost reports, forecasts and cash‑flow to ensure profitability.
• Manage procurement of major materials, subcontract packages and long‑lead items.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and key stakeholders.
• Identify major risks, establish mitigation measures and ensure strict HSE and quality compliance.
• Drive project completion, testing, commissioning, authority approvals and final handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 20 years of overall construction experience, including 5–8 years in a Project Director or Senior Project Director role.
• Extensive experience with a reputable main contractor delivering large‑scale high‑rise or mega civil projects.
