Project Engineer - Construction

About the role

A construction company in Abu Dhabi is looking for a competent Project Engineer with 7-10 years of construction experience to support project planning, execution and coordination of construction works. The engineer works closely with the Project Manager and Construction Manager so that works follow approved drawings, specifications, project schedules and Abu Dhabi authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site activities and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
• Ensure works follow approved drawings, method statements and ITPs
• Support short- and long-term schedules, monitor progress and productivity, and prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
• Review drawings, prepare shop drawings, material submittals and method statements, and resolve technical issues with consultants and senior management
• Ensure QA/QC compliance, coordinate consultant and authority inspections and close comments, and comply with HSE policies
• Supervise subcontractor works, coordinate material delivery and storage, and monitor material approvals
• Help coordinate approvals with ADM/DMT, ADDC, ADCD and other authorities, maintain project records, and support as-built drawings and handover

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• 7-10 years of construction experience, with strong exposure to Abu Dhabi projects and experience in building, infrastructure or mixed-use projects
• Preferred: experience with main contractors in Abu Dhabi and hands-on site experience with consultant and authority inspections

Required skills

• Good knowledge of construction methods and sequencing
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi authority regulations and approval processes
• AutoCAD and MS Office; basic knowledge of Primavera P6/MS Project preferred
• Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving and analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure
