Project Engineer

About the role

Auremin is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the development and delivery of energy and infrastructure projects across Africa and other regions. Based in Dubai, the role involves frequent travel to project sites and contractor facilities in Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full project lifecycle from concept, feasibility and FEED through detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and risk registers, monitoring deviations and escalating issues.
• Review engineering deliverables such as design basis documents, technical specifications, P&IDs, equipment data sheets and scopes of work.
• Conduct technical due‑diligence and feasibility assessments for new opportunities.
• Manage relationships with EPC contractors, especially Chinese firms, including scope negotiations, technical reviews and performance monitoring.
• Review contractor‑submitted documents, drawings and schedules to ensure compliance with specifications and international standards.
• Lead factory acceptance tests (FAT) and perform site visits at contractor facilities across Asia.
• Coordinate with local authorities, government bodies, environmental agencies and community stakeholders in host countries.
• Work closely with internal Finance, Legal and Business Development teams to integrate project requirements.
• Prepare regular progress reports and support permitting, environmental and social impact processes.

Required profile

• Technically rigorous and commercially aware engineer.
• Comfortable operating in fast‑moving, frontier‑market environments.
• Proven experience managing EPC contracts and delivering large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Africa and Asia.

Required skills

• Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed design.
