Project Engineer - Oil, Gas & Petrochemical EPC

About the role

A Project Engineer position based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, working on EPC projects in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry. The role works with the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) to coordinate project engineering activities so that deadlines and budgets are respected. It is a contractual position starting from 01.11.2026.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise specific multi-disciplinary activities and critical engineering cycles while keeping to the contract budget and project schedule.
• Report to the PEM on the status, planning and key issues of assigned activities.
• Support the PEM in defining and preparing coordination and engineering project execution procedures.
• Ensure the quality of multidisciplinary project documents according to contract requirements, within budget and on time.
• Support the PEM in defining the project's basic technical choices, identifying the best technical, economic and temporal solutions.
• Help keep standards, procedures and operating instructions up to date across the department and group companies, and share experience with colleagues.
• Promote the professional growth of colleagues through training courses when needed.

Required profile

• Masters' or bachelor's degree in engineering (mandatory).
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in EPC projects within the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
