Project Manager – Design Phase (Dubai)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the pre‑contract design phase of infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role involves coordinating design teams, stakeholders and consultants while managing timelines, budgets and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all design‑phase activities from project initiation through pre‑contract completion.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules and budgets aligned with organisational objectives.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams, clients, consultants and external stakeholders.
• Conduct design reviews and quality‑assurance checks to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, analyse and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Monitor performance against KPIs and provide regular status reports to senior management.
• Manage design consultant contracts, scope of work and deliverables.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including design specifications, meeting minutes and compliance records.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in construction, real‑estate or engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in a built‑environment discipline; professional accreditation such as MIStructE, MICE, RIBA, AIA or PMP preferred.
• Proven experience managing design projects in the UAE or Middle‑East market.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on quality and compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera (or equivalent project‑management software).
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
• Knowledge of UAE building codes, regulations and approval processes.
