Project Manager, Industrial Automation Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the full lifecycle of industrial automation projects for the oil and gas sector, from initiation through commissioning and close‑out. The role ensures safe, on‑time, and cost‑effective delivery while maintaining strong client relationships and compliance with HSSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate project teams, conduct kick‑off meetings, and develop execution and subcontracting strategies.
• Coordinate with client Project Managers, set up information systems, and manage communications.
• Negotiate OEM quotations, maintain commercial registers, and stay updated on automation technologies.
• Develop schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk registers; monitor progress and report to senior management.
• Oversee technical design reviews, PLC/DCS/SCADA programming, FAT/SAT witnessing, and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Manage subcontractors from award to close‑out, control costs, and handle change orders.
• Take full P&L responsibility, including revenue delivery, margin management, invoicing, and cash collection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or related field; PMP or Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in industrial automation projects, preferably in the UAE/Middle East.
• Proven project management experience on electrical and brownfield oil‑and‑gas projects.
• Strong HSSE leadership and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
