Project Manager – Power Generation / CCGT

About the role

Terracotta Outsourcing is recruiting on behalf of a leading power and utilities organization in Abu Dhabi. The role is for an experienced Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of major CCGT power generation projects across the GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the development and execution of 2–3 power generation projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, budget, quality and HSE requirements.
• Oversee the performance of Project Companies and EPC contractors throughout construction and delivery phases.
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, CAPEX/OPEX, expenditures, forecasts and risks, and report deviations.
• Review progress reports, identify schedule, cost, technical, contractual and delivery risks, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Work closely with technical, asset‑management and O&M teams to resolve technical deviations and ensure smooth transition to operations.
• Manage contractual and commercial matters including claims, variation orders, extensions of time and force‑majeure events.
• Support business development by providing project delivery input during bidding and development phases.
• Maintain strong relationships with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, offtakers, consultants and other strategic stakeholders.
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimise project cost and schedule.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience managing construction and delivery of major CCGT projects within the GCC.
• Minimum 8 years (96 months) of relevant project management experience in power generation.
• Proven track record delivering projects on time, within budget and to HSE standards.
• Strong knowledge of EPC contracts, CAPEX/OPEX management and commercial negotiations.
• Ability to assess project economics, cash‑flows and risk scenarios.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
