Project Planner (Civil) – Construction Scheduling

About the role

Our client is seeking a Project Planner (Civil) to develop, maintain and monitor project schedules from inception to completion. The role involves coordinating design, cost, scheduling and on‑site activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed, resource‑loaded master schedules (baseline programmes) using Primavera P6 or MS Project to define key milestones and critical paths.
• Track daily, weekly and monthly progress against the baseline and prepare detailed reports, including S‑curves and progress updates, highlighting achievements, delays and critical events.
• Identify project slippages, perform “what‑if” scenarios and recommend recovery plans to address potential delays.
• Assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims and variations using methodologies such as window analysis or Time Impact Analysis (TIA).
• Coordinate with project management to allocate manpower, equipment and materials and maintain cash‑flow projections.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and consultants to resolve scheduling issues and attend project meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in project planning or project control, preferably on‑site construction or design.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret complex data and blueprints and identify project risks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting to stakeholders and negotiating with project teams.
