Purchasing & Receiving Officer – Emirati Talent

About the role

The Purchasing & Receiving Officer will coordinate with suppliers, finance, stores and hotel departments to ensure timely availability of quality products while maintaining accurate documentation and cost control. The role involves managing day‑to‑day purchasing activities in line with hotel policies and handling the receipt and inspection of all incoming goods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process purchase orders based on approved requisitions and operational needs.
• Obtain quotations, confirm prices, availability and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Receive, inspect and verify incoming goods against purchase orders, delivery notes and quality standards.
• Report discrepancies, damaged or incorrect deliveries to relevant departments.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, invoices and receiving reports.
• Coordinate storage and handling of received items with Stores and hotel departments.
• Assist in monitoring supplier performance, pricing, delivery times and product quality.
• Work closely with Finance to reconcile purchasing and receiving records with invoices.

Required profile

• Previous experience in purchasing, receiving, procurement or stores, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of purchasing and receiving procedures and documentation.
• Good understanding of supplier coordination and basic cost‑control principles.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve receiving issues efficiently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with hotel procurement or inventory systems is a plus.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
