Python Backend Developer – Dubai

About the role

We are seeking a Python Backend Developer to join our growing technology team in Dubai. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs while collaborating closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless API integration.
• Write clean, well‑structured, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and help improve backend architecture.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to guarantee code quality.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, taking part in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Maintain technical documentation for backend systems and APIs.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on Python backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and at least one modern framework (Django, FastAPI, or Flask).
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Good understanding of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non‑relational (MongoDB) databases.
• Familiarity with ORM tools and query optimisation.
• Proficiency with Git, Jira or similar project‑management tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude).
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
