Python Developer

About the role

ValueLabs is hiring a full-time Python Developer in Dubai. The role covers building and maintaining scalable Python web frameworks, designing RESTful APIs and working closely with front-end developers. The position is listed as intermediate level with about 2 years of experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable web frameworks using Python, collaborating with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Develop backend systems that serve datasets through APIs and other interfaces, implementing data access layers and integrating with various databases.
• Optimise backend code for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Use ORMs to interact with databases using Python objects, defining models, performing CRUD operations, querying data and handling transactions.
• Apply security best practices for microservices, including authentication, authorisation and encryption, and secure APIs with OAuth, JWT and API gateways.
• Contribute to productionising the framework, with strong experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Python, including web frameworks such as Flask and FastAPI for RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming with asyncio.
• Experience handling concurrent connections and optimising I/O operations.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and ability to write clean, efficient and maintainable code.
• Knowledge of security practices for microservices, including OAuth, JWT and API gateways.
• Sound knowledge of Python-based web frameworks such as Django, Flask or Pyramid, including routing, templating, database integration, authentication and testing.
• Experience with ORMs such as SQLAlchemy or Django ORM.
• Familiarity with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and data warehousing, and scripting skills in SQL and Shell.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
