QA Engineer - E-commerce Testing

About the role

Omni is looking for a QA Engineer in Dubai to oversee software testing within a collaborative in-house and outsourced team. The role covers quality review of an omnichannel e-commerce website and mobile application, including creating test plans and strategies, test cases with developers, business analysts and project managers, and checking code against system requirements using test automation and manual testing tools.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative testing strategies and streamlined processes with development activities to reduce testing redundancy.
• Design and plan test cases for new projects based on business requirements, breaking them into positive and negative scenarios.
• Run tests and integration tests automatically, and design, program and execute automated test suites covering all major front-end functionalities across browsers.
• Handle a wide range of projects from conception through implementation.
• Work with stakeholders on periodic requirement reviews so that applications are delivered flawlessly in production.
• Propose solutions for issues and errors based on understanding of the system and client business processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering.
• 3+ years of software QA automation experience on web and mobile platforms (API, app and web automation).
• Experience with ecommerce platforms, order management systems, search and third-party ecommerce applications.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and in an Agile Scrum, test-driven environment.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of Java, Python, SQL and XML.
• Building automation frameworks from scratch with BDD tools such as Cucumber, PhantomJS, Katalon (Selenium), TestNG, JUnit and REST Assured.
• Continuous integration (Jenkins, GitHub) and bug tracking tools such as JIRA and QMETRY.
• JMeter scripting for performance/load testing is a plus.
