Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

About the role

Global Hotel Alliance's E-commerce Applications and Engineering team builds and runs the GHA DISCOVERY digital platform, its website, iOS and Android apps and the APIs powering its brand channels. It is looking for a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to own quality for the website, content management system and APIs, and to build the test automation from the ground up, choosing the tools, designing the framework and setting the standards. The team uses AI tools and expects the candidate to bring them into testing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the web and API test automation framework from scratch, including tool selection, structure, reporting and continuous integration.
• Own testing of the website, content management system and APIs, combining automated and manual testing for each release.
• Use AI tools to speed up test design, test code, test data and results analysis.
• Write test plans, test cases and test reports, and maintain traceability between requirements, tests and defects.
• Lead user acceptance testing with business stakeholders before each release, assess release risk and give a go or no-go recommendation.
• Log, track and drive defects to resolution in Jira, and run cross-browser and cross-device testing including mobile web.
• Work closely with developers, product owners, marketing and third-party vendors.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including 2+ years writing and maintaining automated tests.
• Proven experience setting up a test automation framework from scratch.
• Strong documentation skills and experience in functional and non-functional testing.
• Able to work independently, make confident decisions, manage several projects at once and help the wider team.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with at least one web automation framework (Playwright, Selenium or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or Java.
• API testing (Postman or similar) and Git with CI pipelines.
• Jira and Confluence; a plus: hospitality or travel app testing, loyalty/rewards systems, payment flows, CMS and basic HTML/CSS.
