Quality Control Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Quality Control Engineer to join its Oil & Gas EPC project team in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that all E&I construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities meet project specifications, international standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain QC procedures, inspection plans and checklists for E&I activities, reviewing project specifications, ITPs and method statements.
• Lead inspections and testing for cable trays, cable pulling, MCCs, switchgear, instrument installation, grounding systems, calibration, loop checks and functional tests.
• Manage NCRs, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions, tracking punch items to closure.
• Inspect incoming materials, verify test certificates and ensure proper storage and calibration traceability.
• Coordinate with construction, commissioning, planning and HSE teams, and represent E&I quality matters in client and internal meetings.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of QA/QC experience in Electrical & Instrumentation for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power or industrial projects, with at least 2‑4 years in a QC Engineer role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or related engineering discipline (diploma holders with extensive experience considered).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISA and related international standards.
• LV/MV Electrical Systems and earthing/grounding/lightning protection.
• Instrumentation systems calibration and testing.
• DCS, PLC and control system fundamentals.
• Testing & commissioning procedures, including FAT, SAT, loop checks and functional tests.
