Quality Control Inspector – Civil

About the role

We are SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company. We are looking for experienced Civil Quality Control Inspectors to perform civil inspection activities on EPC and construction projects in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of civil and structural works such as excavation, formwork, rebar placement, concrete placement, finishing and backfilling.
• Verify that materials and workmanship comply with project specifications, standards and the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Review and approve civil work procedures, method statements and checklists before execution.
• Witness and document quality control tests including slump, cube and compaction tests.
• Prepare inspection reports, non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective‑action records.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering and QA/QC teams to resolve quality issues and monitor subcontractor performance.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience as a Civil Quality Control Inspector on EPC or construction projects, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial sectors.
• Familiarity with project specifications, QA/QC procedures, ITPs and method statements.

Required skills

• Concrete testing – slump test, cube test, compaction test.
• Knowledge of international standards such as ASTM, ACI, BS and ISO.
• Experience with Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and QA/QC documentation.
• Ability to prepare and manage inspection reports, NCRs and corrective‑action records.
