Quality & Hygiene Officer

About the role

The Quality & Hygiene Officer reports to the Quality & Sustainability Assistant Manager and is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, quality and sustainability across the Rixos hotel. The role ensures compliance with multiple ISO and sustainability standards while supporting continuous improvement in food safety and environmental performance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce compliance with ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 10002, EN 15288 and GSTC standards through regular audits and corrective actions.
• Develop, implement and manage food safety and hygiene protocols, including HACCP, and conduct training sessions for staff.
• Perform routine inspections of receiving areas, stores, kitchens, F&B outlets, spa, rooms, laundry and other hotel zones to ensure strict adherence to hygiene standards.
• Lead HACCP meetings, coordinate vendor inspections and maintain comprehensive training records.
• Analyse service performance scores, identify root causes and work with department heads on improvement plans.
• Oversee environmental initiatives such as waste management, energy efficiency and water conservation to reduce the hotel’s footprint.
• Ensure swimming safety compliance with EN 15288 and support sustainability projects across departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, Quality Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar quality, hygiene or safety role within a 5‑star hotel.
• Relevant certifications in ISO standards (e.g., ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 10002).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.
