Quality Inspector – Structural & Buildings (Module Yard)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Quality Inspector to support the Structural & Buildings module yard in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on ensuring that heavy structural modules, building works and associated installations meet all project specifications, codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect heavy structural modules and buildings for compliance with GA, civil, architectural and construction drawings.
• Perform quality control inspections of structural steel fabrication, piping spool fabrication, equipment installation, electrical/instrument supports and coating works.
• Verify receipt, storage and preservation of materials according to project specifications and international standards.
• Witness dimensional, alignment and elevation checks, bolt torque/tightening, and tensioning of bolted connections.
• Conduct random surveys using surveying equipment to confirm vertical/horizontal alignment, elevation of utilities and placement of reinforced steel.
• Ensure all welds, NDT results, painting, and QC documentation are accepted before mechanical completion.
• Report compliance with codes, standards and procedures, and raise non‑conformances as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience inspecting heavy structural modules and building works.
• Familiarity with project documents, GA, civil, architectural and construction drawings.
• Ability to verify compliance with relevant codes, standards and procedures.
• Experience in receipt inspection, storage and preservation of materials.
• Capability to witness and document bolt torque, alignment and dimensional checks.
