Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will lead cost planning and control across all design and construction phases for fit‑out projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will prepare Bills of Quantities, certify work, and manage final accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare draft cost estimates, budgets and Bills of Quantities from concept to detailed design.
• Support tendering by managing pre‑qualification, RFIs, tender evaluation and reporting.
• Develop project cash‑flow forecasts and track actual costs against projections.
• Certify on‑site work, issue payment certificates and coordinate with finance for releases.
• Administer contracts under FIDIC terms, ensuring contractor compliance.
• Compile close‑out documentation, settle final accounts and produce project close‑out reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS chartered qualification preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveyor experience, preferably in fit‑out projects.
• At least 2 years of experience in the UAE, especially Abu Dhabi.
• Proven track record managing projects from inception to final account.

Required skills

• Proficiency in English.
• Strong MS Office skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of FIDIC contracts.
• Understanding of contract procedures, measurement methods and estimating techniques.
• Awareness of local market conditions, pricing and labour costs.
