Quantity Surveyor Engineer – MEP

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor Engineer – MEP will manage all cost aspects of construction projects from initial estimation through to final account closure. Working closely with project managers, contractors and clients, the role ensures projects stay within financial constraints while delivering value for money.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets based on project specifications, drawings and historical data.
• Develop and maintain cost‑control procedures, forecast expenses and track actual costs against the budget.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, payment certificates and variation orders.
• Monitor project progress, identify cost‑saving opportunities and advise on financial risks.
• Assist in preparing final accounts, resolve disputes and ensure timely financial close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience on large‑scale commercial or residential projects.
• Proven experience preparing cost estimates, budgets, tender documents and managing variations.
• Familiarity with contract conditions such as FIDIC or NEC.

• Cost estimation software: CostX, Bluebeam, Buildertrend, MS Excel.
• Contract management and variation handling (FIDIC, NEC).
