Railway System Interface Manager

About the role

RINA is seeking an experienced Railway System Interface Manager to lead interface development and integration for railway projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves coordinating subsystems, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving digitalisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage railway system scenarios, requirements and architecture across rolling stock, signaling, tracks and power supply.
• Coordinate interface development, verification and validation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure interoperability of subsystems and compliance with national and international standards (EN, NFPA, etc.).
• Oversee lifecycle management, upgrades, modernization and asset maintenance planning.
• Implement IoT, AI, Big Data, Digital Twin and smart signalling solutions for predictive maintenance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of system engineering experience in railway systems.
• Proven expertise in interface management and sustainability of railway infrastructure.
• Experience with large‑scale railway deployments and mixed traffic operations.

Required skills

• Systems engineering tools: DOORS, Enterprise Architect.
• Failure and safety analysis tools: ReliaSoft, FMECA, FTA.
• Design tools: MATLAB, Simulink, CATIA.
• Standards: EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, ETCS/ERTMS, IEC 62290, CENELEC.
• Regulations: UIC, AAR, FRA.
