Receiving Clerk

About the role

The Receiving Clerk manages the hotel's goods receiving process, making sure all deliveries are accurately inspected, recorded and distributed in line with the hotel's purchasing, procurement and financial procedures. The role sits within the Finance and Procurement function and works closely with suppliers, the Accounts Payable team and hotel departments.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify all incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery documents for quantity, quality and company standards.
• Record all received goods promptly and accurately, and ensure timely distribution to the appropriate hotel departments.
• Document and account for goods, materials and equipment leaving the hotel, ensuring they are approved.
• Maintain receiving documentation and help the Accounts Payable/Order to Procure (OTP) team with invoice matching and delivery reconciliation.
• Work with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods or quality issues.
• Follow purchasing, procurement, finance, inventory control and receiving procedures, and follow up on finance training and development programmes.

Required profile

• A passion for hospitality, acting with integrity, teamwork, ownership and a focus on the now.
• Previous experience in receiving or stock control is preferred.
• A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
