Recovery Officer

About the role

The Recovery Officer provides administrative and operational support to the Collections department, managing sensitive documentation, monitoring settlement compliance, handling customer complaints and following regulatory requirements. The role involves contacting more than 180 delinquent clients to recover overdue payments and converting promises to pay into actual payments.

Key responsibilities

• Contact 180+ delinquent clients and follow up on Credit Card and Loan accounts to encourage settlements
• Negotiate settlements with appropriate haircuts to reduce credit losses
• Facilitate restructuring by implementing assured repayment methods, such as salary transfer to the bank
• Meet assigned monthly collection targets and resolve customer queries and disputes
• Initiate legal action for high-value uncooperative accounts and credit control actions such as suspension or cancellation of facilities
• Maintain skip tracing for unreachable customers and identify and report high-risk cases
• Analyze payment patterns, monitor portfolio quality indicators and provide feedback on delinquency trends
• Follow prescribed call models and scripts, maintain detailed documentation and comply with debt management strategy

Required profile

• High school graduate; university degree (BA/BS) preferred
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in collections, with a strong background in debt management and demonstrated recovery process experience
• Thorough knowledge of banking regulations
• Written and spoken English; Arabic preferred
• Professional certification in Collections/Recovery preferred
