Recreation Animator

About the role

Sheraton is looking for a Recreation Animator in Sharjah to act as the main resource for recreation activities on the property. The role welcomes guests to the pool, beach, entertainment zone, fitness center and children's activities centre, promotes a fun and relaxing atmosphere and keeps guests safe while they use the facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Inform guests about available recreation facilities and encourage them to join activities, including registering and scheduling participants
• Promote the rules and regulations of the facilities for guest safety and welfare
• Monitor activities and respond appropriately to emergencies in line with local operating procedures
• Provide cashier services and process payments for rental equipment, activity bookings, facility rentals and retail sales
• Assist with private functions and group events, and help injured guests until emergency medical services arrive
• Clean and maintain facilities, equipment and supplies, and report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager
• Complete safety training and certifications, follow company policies, and welcome and assist guests, including those with disabilities

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• No related or supervisory experience required
• CPR certification and First Aid certification
• Any certification or training required by local and state agencies

The role involves standing, sitting or walking for long periods, lifting up to 25 pounds unaided, and using computers and point-of-sale systems. Physical demands include moving through narrow or elevated spaces and reaching overhead and below the knees.
