Registered Midwife

About the role

The Registered Midwife will deliver patient‑centred, evidence‑based care across antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum periods, ensuring compliance with ethical and professional standards set by regulatory authorities and Mediclinic. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote safety, positive experiences for patients and families, and accurate clinical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quality care to antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum women and neonates in line with clinical standards and legislation.
• Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety according to clinical risk policies.
• Facilitate positive patient and family experiences by creating a supportive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Supervise, mentor and coach learners and nursing staff to build competence.
• Utilise stock and equipment efficiently following Mediclinic guidelines.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelor's degree in Midwifery or related field.
• Minimum two years recent experience as a Registered Midwife in Labour and Delivery.
