Registered Nurse – Aviation & Occupational Health

About the role

We are looking for a registered nurse to join the Etihad Airways Medical Centre in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi. The role supports the General, Aviation and Occupational Health departments by performing medical fitness examinations and providing general nursing care in line with UAE regulator standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians during aviation and occupational pre‑employment, initial and renewal medical examinations, conducting vital signs, vision tests, ECG, audiogram, tympanometry, spirometry, BMI calculations and vaccinations.
• Prepare and maintain confidential patient records, ensuring completeness of flight‑crew and cabin‑crew medical files, vaccination profiles and alcohol/drug test results.
• Calibrate and verify medical equipment before use, report malfunctions and coordinate repairs with biomedical engineers.
• Maintain aseptic standards, cleanliness and infection‑control practices within the centre.
• Monitor medical supplies, emergency drugs and crash‑cart inventory on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Support health‑education programmes, lectures and campaigns as required.
• Document competency records, update nursing policies and report incidents or variances.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) with BSN or Diploma in Nursing.
• Minimum three years’ experience in a large hospital or medical centre in the UAE with a valid DOH/DHA licence.
• Emergency First Responder registration and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least two years’ experience in chronic disease management.
• Fluent English, strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in performing ECG, spirometry, audiogram and tympanometry tests.
• Medical equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Computer literacy and record‑keeping software.
