Registered Nurse - Long Term Care Unit

About the role

The Royal Khalifa City Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Long Term Care Unit. The role involves delivering safe, compassionate, and individualized care to patients while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, develop and monitor individualized care plans, and coordinate with physicians and allied health professionals.
• Perform systematic assessments, record vital signs, and promptly address any abnormalities.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide wound care, manage catheters, tubes, and support patients on mechanical and non‑invasive ventilation.
• Assist with invasive procedures such as lumbar puncture, central line insertion, and intercostal drain placement.
• Facilitate safe admission, transfer, and discharge processes and contribute to post‑acute rehabilitation and palliative care.

Required profile

• Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the UAE and current AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to work across departments, communicate clearly in English, and optionally in Arabic.
• Demonstrated teamwork within an inter‑professional environment and proficiency with electronic medical record documentation.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation.
• Mechanical ventilation, BIPAP/CPAP, cardiac monitoring, infusion pump operation, wound VAC management.
• Catheter (Suprapubic, Foley) and tube (nasogastric/jejunal) management, total parenteral nutrition, enteral feeding.
• Assistance with lumbar puncture, central line insertion, intercostal drain placement, and haemodialysis procedures.
• Electronic medical record documentation.
