Registered Nurse – Medical & Surgical

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse – Inpatient with a strong medical‑surgical background to provide safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care within an inpatient setting. The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care based on evidence‑based practice, effective clinical judgment, and continuous patient assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Deliver direct nursing care to acute medical‑surgical inpatients, monitor clinical status, recognize deterioration early, and escalate care promptly.
• Safely administer medications and IV therapies, ensuring accurate dosage calculations and adherence to protocols.
• Assist physicians during procedures and provide post‑procedure monitoring and interventions.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using electronic medical record systems.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate treatment plans and prioritize patient needs.
• Educate patients and families throughout admission and discharge to promote recovery and prevent complications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent recognized qualification.
• Minimum 3 years recent experience in a medical‑surgical inpatient ward.
• Valid Department of Health (DOH) Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Medication administration and IV therapy management.
