Registered Nurse – Neonatal ICU (NICU)

About the role

The Royal Khalifa City Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role involves delivering safe, compassionate, and individualized care to newborns and supporting their families.

Key responsibilities

• Perform systematic patient assessments, develop and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Operate and monitor NICU equipment such as incubators, ventilators, radiant warmers, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, bilirubin meters and phototherapy devices.
• Provide neonatal resuscitation, administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, total parenteral nutrition and manage wound care.
• Assist with invasive procedures including intubation, central line insertion, and support surgical neonates pre‑ and post‑operatively.
• Educate parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, immunizations and provide emotional support.

Required profile

• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the relevant UAE health authority.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to work across departments when needed.
