Registered Nurse – Outpatient Department (OPD)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will work in the Outpatient Department of Royal Hospital Sharjah, delivering safe, patient‑centred care while adhering to professional scope of practice. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient needs, providing education, emotional support and coordination of care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, identify needs and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and allied health professionals.
• Perform systematic patient assessments, record vital signs, and promptly escalate any abnormalities.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide wound care, suturing, incision & drainage, and assist with procedures such as PAP smears and high vaginal swabs.
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments and emergency surgeries, ensuring safe admission, transfer and discharge.
• Maintain and update clinical skills, adhere to evidence‑based practices and complete mandatory competencies on the Elsevier platform.

Required profile

• Valid registered nurse license issued by the UAE health authority.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Willingness to work across departments, on call when needed, and communicate clearly in English.
• Ability to think critically, make quick decisions and function efficiently in a busy OPD setting.
