Regular & Visiting Faculty – Computer Science & Engineering (Fall 2027)

About the role

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the American University of Sharjah seeks qualified candidates for regular and visiting faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, starting Fall 2027. Visiting appointments focus primarily on teaching, while regular faculty are expected to lead active research programs supported by internal and external funding.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and Computer Engineering.
• Develop and update curricula and teaching materials.
• Establish and maintain a high‑impact research agenda.
• Secure research funding from national and international sources.
• Participate in departmental service, student advising, and academic committees.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience and a strong teaching portfolio.
• Evidence of scholarly productivity and the ability to obtain research funding.
• Familiarity with the American model of higher education is highly desirable.
