Research Engineer / Technician – Computational Linguistics

About the role

The Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab at NYU Abu Dhabi is hiring a Research Engineer or Technician to contribute to its Arabic natural language processing, machine translation, and text analytics projects. The role involves developing open‑source tools, creating language resources, and publishing research findings.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain open‑source NLP tools and resources for Arabic and other languages.
• Collaborate with lab members to produce research publications and contribute to ongoing projects in machine translation and text analytics.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (MS for Engineer, BS with 3‑5 years experience for Technician).
• Strong programming and software‑engineering abilities, with experience in machine‑learning research and at least one research publication.
