Resident Engineer – Civil – 132 KV and above

About the role

As a Resident Engineer – Civil for 132 kV and above substations, you will lead and supervise all civil works on high‑voltage substation construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, safety regulations and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise civil construction activities including foundations, control buildings, cable trenches and related infrastructure.
• Ensure works are executed in line with approved drawings, specifications and international/local standards.
• Monitor contractor performance, quality of work and adherence to schedules.
• Review and approve contractor submissions such as method statements, shop drawings, material submittals and work procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections to enforce quality control and HSE requirements.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and other disciplines for seamless integration of civil works.
• Serve as the primary on‑site liaison between client, contractor and supervision team.
• Manage technical issues, site challenges and contractual matters.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports and correspondence.
• Lead site meetings, progress reviews and report project status, risks and mitigation measures.
• Oversee testing, commissioning support and handover of civil components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably on substation or power infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale substation construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, QA/QC and HSE standards.
• Familiarity with IEC, BS and ASTM standards and GCC/UAE regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership, team management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work on‑site and travel within the region as required.
